Engagement ring changes fingers after proposal

Has anyone been able to find out if this issue is a glitch in the game or if the sims team just purposely made engagement-looking rings as for every finger but the ring finger? The same thing happens in my game but even though its super annoying i thought it was meant to do that because no one else complained about this problem when the pack first came out, but I found this thread now so i hope its just a glitch.
