Had trouble getting the couple to perform vows at the arch. It says partner wasn’t near when they are both standing by the arch. Nothing was in the way. Had to restart game now for it to work?

Anyone looking for a fix in 2025, it’s likely because you changed the outfits from the randomized wedding attire they spawn with. You’ll unfortunately have to keep it on. Or, change it from a wedding venue to a park.
I have the same issues. Also, once the event starts I can not cancel it anymore. I can't cancel through the phone, through MC command, I can't go home or can't go to manage worlds. I HAVE to restart the entire game so that it goes back to before the event started.
Not all my guests show up or stay seated. The flower girl or ring bearer don't do anything, I can't cut the cake or dance. They don't want to do ANYTHING.
I also can't get my sims to marry through the "old" way because there is no arch that will let them get married. It's an absolute disaster and if they can't even get married through the old way, how are any of my sims supposed to get married??
I'm having the same problem. I was only able to get my sims to renew their vow in San Myshuno. All other lots it wouldn't work.

Thanks for your reply! It says the Engaged sim isn't there - when they are right next to their partner, or I get this notification showing the game hasn't recognised we're in an event.
There's a few issues with weddings. What does it say if you hover over get married ?
Is this still under investigation or do we have a resolution ?

I am experiencing a persistent bug in The Sims 4 that is preventing my Sims from getting married.
When I click the wedding arch, the "Get Married To..." option is greyed out.
If I try to plan a wedding, the game says "Cannot start a new Social Event while one is already in progress or while working," even though there are no active events running.
The only options available are "Plan Wedding Event" or "Plan Customized Wedding Event," but the ceremony never completes and my Sims remain engaged.
I have tried different lots, wedding arches, outfits, and interactions, but nothing works.
I have also removed all mods and custom content, cleared the cache, toggled script mods, and repaired the game through the EA App. The problem still persists.
This happens even in a new save with no mods, so it appears to be a game bug rather than an issue caused by custom content.
Screenshots show the wedding arch with the greyed-out option, the wedding event in progress without completion, and my game options showing mods disabled during testing.
Could you please advise if there is a workaround or confirm if this is a known bug? It is making weddings unplayable in my game.

I've had this problem too, really disappointing. I cant use the wedding stories weddings because it wont let me get married when i do. i hope they really rework and fix the bugs in this pack.
