I have updated my game, the hot fix of March 18th, and my game still doesn't launch with cc installed. I still get the message "Failed to launch game" when cc is installed.
Ideas
What worked for me was removing my mods folder (just move it to your desktop), launch the game (DO NOT LAUNCH ANY SAVES WITH CC OR MODS), closing the game, moving the mod folder back into the game, and then launching again. Somehow this worked for me. Also make sure you've cleared the cache on the EA app (three lines in the corner > Help > App Recovery).
Edit: Tried it again not even 10 minutes later and it doesn't work anymore. Seems to just be happening with my CC since when i take out just CC and leave all my mods (my mods are up-to-date) the game still launches fine. Seems like I'll have to play CC free for now :( . I honestly wouldnt be surprised if EA broke all external CC on purpose to push the marketplace even further.
Omg this is exactly what I've been dealing with since yesterday. Mods work find but all my cas cc and buildbuy cc wont let my game launch 😤 I know they did this intentionally. If our games wont support files outside of EA market we will be forced to buy from them. I love the note they left on the front page of the main menu in-game saying they know how important cc is to us and that they fixed the issue. No you didnt!! If u did i wouldn't be getting a launch error when I have them in my mods folder.
I'm honestly just so sick of The Sims 4 atp. Sadly all thats been happening has kind of put me off of the Sims 2 and 3 as well just from the effort i have to put in to get the games to work.
I'm probably just gonna wait for Paralives to come out since the planned release date is around my birthday and I'm broke rn
