My game won't start either. I only have a few custom content files in the mods folder. If there were no mods in the game, I could understand it... Normally, the game should start without any problems. I removed the custom content. The game ran. I put the custom content back in the folder, and the game ran. I restarted, and it didn't run anymore. I've obviously deleted the cache. So the problem can't be on our end. It would be nice if EA would look into this.

Demonkiss663 Please try this. It might not "stick" (I don't know yet), but it seems to help:
- rename the user folder (the one Mods is in); I usually also drag it to my desktop to keep things less confusable
- start the game and exit, to make a new user folder
- copy mod/CC files to the new folder, but not folders -- instead, manually make new folders in Mods
