Ideas
89Krittle Thank you for the memory boost info. That seems to be consistent with some other reports, at least as far as player settings are concerned. My testing has also concluded that it's not the CC files that are broken. I believe this is going to turn out to somehow be related to folders, but it's complicated -- I couldn't replicate it when I was working to clarify that this wasn't something modders needed to be the ones to fix.
Please try this set of steps:
- rename your user folder (the one Mods is inside of). I usually also drag it to my desktop.
- start the game and exit to create a new user folder
- Copy CC files over but don't copy the folders. Instead, make new folders manually.
Okay so I tried this.
Tried to launch what loaded last night and it worked before doing as you suggested. I still did what you suggested after making sure the game loaded with the 23.2GB of mods/cc it did previously. So I had files I knew would load to test with (combination of mods and cc).
Able to launch with newly generated folder no mods
able to launch when I copy in tray files
Able to load when I copy save files
loaded cc/mods only from ones that I was able to load up previously one folder at a time and launch the game after each folder. Creating the folders and copying in the files as advised. Failed to launch on the same creator twice and on the third time the game loaded. I have had success with this particular creator in other attempts. Which is why I was using the ones that loaded previously. But my folder size was only at 3.41GB this time when I had the failure to launch.
Edit: Closed game and added in the next creator. Failed to launch. Removed creator, still failed to launch. Removed the previous creator still failed to launch 4 times. Each time I deleted the resource file and refreshed the EA app. I waited 5mins now the games launched.
