i updated my game, i updated my mods, did everything i normally do, and everything was working fine as of 130am PST. this afternoon, the EA app itself wanted to update, so i didn't even think about it and i allowed the app to update.
for some reason THAT seemed to break everything for me when the actual game update was working just fine before?
i have a pretty good handle on my mods folder, i have over 150gb of stuff in there and i almost never have issues but even doing 50/50 i am finding so much stuff that's broken after just the APP update, it's totally absurd. not sure if anyone else is having a problem after the EA app update this afternoon within the last couple hours but oh man this is bad. i don't usually ever say anything about stuff but...yeah this is pretty bad.
ETA: i have looked all over the internet/chat rooms/forums/groups and i have hardly seen anyone mention the ea app update- maybe only two people. also did a folder refresh like people are recommending and no luck. also no luck with going offline or even disabling the wifi on my pc. the errors with CC seem to be very inconsistent/isolated to certain creators. i have 164gb and prob 80% of it is fine, the whole thing is really strange

I have been in the process of testing all my customer content. I stopped yesterday after testing about half and the game was loading. Getting ready to start up and test more today but decided to test yesterday's progress and started up the game with the same CC that worked yesterday and nothing new added and got the "can't load failure on our end message."
At this point - I don't think it is an issue with the custom content. - RookeryMistress4 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
Totally. I would have preferred a roll-back while they test the update in an isolated manner, I know they're getting pressured to pop things out asap, but QA suffers due to it.

So what is happening here? I checked my Sims 4 this morning, and it was working. I was great they fixed it. It did another update, and am back to it not launching.

For me, the CAS folder is the one I got back into the game which successfully loads (with very little CC). My CAS folder is about 6GB with 1,439 files in 12 folders. Perhaps yours is larger. Or, you have just hit 'the limit' with other CC you have successfully put back in the game.

My problem is that I played without mods, only CC, and nothing appeared; everything was fine, the CCs ran perfectly. After updating and with the emergency patch, I exited and tried to enter again, but I couldn't.

All this could have been avoided if EA game play tested vanilla, CC and Mods.
EA's announcement said Marketplace was "years of planning".
The fallout from updates is progressively worse. Less drama. Less excuses. More QA.
I love playing The Sims. I support the game and right now that means constructive criticism. - pinoyeon4 days agoSeasoned Novice
Typical EA… the patch needed a patch that needs a patch… Good heavens.. do yall even TEST these patches before releasing them out to the public?!

The game launched with all the CC, I entered CAS everything was there, then I downloaded something form the gallery and the game just wouldn’t load. I close it and guess what? Failed to launch game again! At this point I don’t get it! This is so frustrating
