Failed to launch error/Fully Black Screen when using CC

Also would like to note that I just tried to download another CAS background and that caused my game not to launch. I deleted it and the game launched :) 

Hi fellow simmers! I removed all my script mods, as well as my g-shade, overlays, lighting mods, and even my custom CAS background and that seemed to help me at least start the game. 
Your game won’t look like what you’re used to but at least you’ll be able to play until EA gets it together.

My game doesn't fail to load, but with cc and mods enabled I just get a black screen when trying to start the Sims and I can't do anything. I have to force a shut down in Task manager.

Same problem here. I took out al my CC, the game loaded. Added some back in, the game loaded. Then I added more and it stopped loading. Took out the CC I'd just added. Didn't load. Removed some CC that the game loaded with and it worked again. Then stopped. There are no rules to it that I can see. It might or might not load if you have CC installed.

im right now adding my mods back little by little its gonna take so long bc i have so much mods but worth it since i havent played in days

just about 20 hours later ( 5pm in NY) and still the game wont open. this has nothing to do with specfic custom content or mods, it seems to be any type of custom content or downloads into the game can make it crash and some will work and then stop working, this is a total sims team issue. I understand they are working on this, but it shouldnt even be happening. what wasnt broke didnt need fixing. 

Well, since it's been established that the issue is clearly on EA's end, I suppose I should just transfer the rest of my mods to my new mods folder and just wait until next week for the patch fix... 

So, my game only works without mods, even though I have updated it, and it won't load with the mods I use (The CC works fine). I have the same issue as everyone else and have spent hours. I have already reinstalled the game and organised my folders, but still no luck. This is so frustrating because Sims is the only game I like to play and have been playing for years. Please figure this out.
