Same exact issue is happening to me and so many others. Script mods are working but any CC is not. This is so infuriating

I’ve removed my mods & cc & put things back in but my bit it error codes I remove what I’ve added before the error & then it just errors again… whatever they’ve done it’s completely broken the game with using CC & mods

If you have the mod “more cas columns” remove it. That’s what fixed my game! It wasn’t launching even after updating my mods & CC. Hope it works :)

I'm having the same problem. really regretting having updated to the 17 March patch. Thought the hotfix would "fix" everything but only my mods/script mods load just fine. Meanwhile, my cc (custom clothes, lashes, shoes, tattoos etc.) are giving me the Failed to Launch screen. Even when i loaded the game with everything in my mods folder, after the spinning plumbob, I got a black screen. Could only hear the game. Take all my cc out, but leave mods in, game loads properly but now my sims look crazy without their cc. I can play without mods but I will never play without cc. Going to uninstall and reinstall to see if it fixes anything. Really annoying how once I finally get my game to play and work properly, EA comes with an unnecessary update and ruins everything. I have generations of sims that I can't play with rn. #Pissed

What worked for me was removing my mods folder (just move it to your desktop), launch the game (DO NOT LAUNCH ANY SAVES WITH CC OR MODS), closing the game, moving the mod folder back into the game, and then launching again. Somehow this worked for me. Also make sure you've cleared the cache on the EA app (three lines in the corner > Help > App Recovery).
Edit: Tried it again not even 10 minutes later and it doesn't work anymore. Seems to just be happening with my CC since when i take out just CC and leave all my mods (my mods are up-to-date) the game still launches fine. Seems like I'll have to play CC free for now :( . I honestly wouldnt be surprised if EA broke all external CC on purpose to push the marketplace even further.

Currently trying to find a permanent solution to this.
Yes, it will load properly with no CC. I'm on PC.
I have tried 50/50ing, but that's not reliable when a file will work and then suddenly not let the game load. I actually got it to load up with all the CC and mods twice, but haven't been able to replicate it. The instant I tried to copy the correct resourceconfig over it started throwing errors again.
Currently doing the clean folder thing to see if it helps.

had to remove all my custom content from the mods folder for it to open. then i tried to re add them after successfully getting the game opened, but then it wouldn't launch anymore. i don't even use gameplay mods. just CAS custom content. don't think the new patch fixed anything.

Removing "more cas columns" worked instantly for me.

For me, the problem is caused by script mods - even updated ones. Plain package mods seem to be ok so far, but any script causes the 'fail to load' error.

I'm really angry and sad. I justo want use my cc, which worked perfectly in the previous version. Now, if I put cc In my mods folder (CC only), I can't even open the game.
