So far, I haven’t been able to find a solution.
I split the custom content folders and got to the point of testing them one by one. The problem is that the same custom content that had previously worked ends up causing the same error later on.
I even tested two folders separately. With just one folder, the game started. Then I tested the other folder separately: the game started. When I tested both folders together: startup error. And then, when I went back to testing each folder individually again: startup error. In fact, the order doesn’t matter. I keep separating the folders and adding them little by little: the game starts, but the error comes back when I try to launch the game again later (even without making any changes to the MODS folder).
This is a nightmare…Note: I hardly use script mods or similar ones—MCC, UI Cheats, and the like; I’ve never used any of those. All my tests are focused only on custom content like hair, clothes, shoes, etc. These items seem (at first) to work fine on their own. However, when placed together, they cause the error.

My game works fine with all my script mods, CC crashes my game as well as empty folders. The strange part is i’ve tested the same 20 cc files from various creators and the results are extremely inconsistent. Sometimes they load sometimes my game crashes.

Same, mods work for me CC doesn’t & it’s inconsistent. I’ve been testing the same 20 files for 2 hours now.

I just wanna preface this by saying yes my game loads when I take my cc folder out my mods folder, but if you think I'm about to play this game without my cc you're crazy. I'd rather not play the game at all. All my saves have custom content. I've tried playing vanilla and it doesn't work for me. I need mods, cc, and the gshades to enjoy it. I've tried everything even checking all my CC (which is almost 16,500 packages) and it's still saying "Failed to launch game". I'm over it and sick of all the updates. I just want to play my game and it's ruined my night.

ETA - but surprisingly enough, Lot 51 core mod, which it pure script, no accompanying package file, doesn't cause a problem. One by one, here we go.

it took me 3 hours until i realized it wasn’t me! It literally doesn’t matter what we do, the files seem to break randomly even after being tested * also all my scripts mods work, it’s just cc that doesn’t.

Clean folder trick did not work. This was without mods added, so it's not an outdated mod issue. Eyelashes cc was also not present. Certain cc just will not load up randomly even with no mods present.

This is the exact same issue I am also facing. The inconsistency of this issue, plus the fact that I gave the same folder to someone else, and it worked for them and not for me, makes me think this isn't a CC issue. Like, it's gotta be something EA has to fix?? I really am hoping because I cannot sort through my mods and figure out which 2 mods don't interact with eachother well, that'd be a nightmare
