Hi! I'm having the same problem. I just updated today, March 19th. Everything was working fine yesterday, I didn't get any error messages but after the update, I've been getting this message over and over again....

I don’t use mods, only custom content (CC). I’m literally trying to start the game using only CC hair, clothes, shoes, and accessories, and the game still won’t launch. The 50/50 method didn’t work for any of the custom content—it was unstable.
The same combination of custom content that worked before suddenly starts causing the error afterward, and the game won’t launch. This makes no sense at all.
I’ve tried everything.
I switched from DirectX 11 to DirectX 9, repaired the game three times, and cleared the cache every time. I uninstalled GShade, created a new folder, and deleted the resource file multiple times.
The custom content still ends up causing a “lastcrash” file.
I was hoping to wake up and find a solution today.
This is absurd—the 50/50 method doesn’t work. I’m not going to play without my custom content.

I’m using a PC with Windows 11.
I switched to DX9.
I don’t use OneDrive.
I haven’t bought or downloaded anything from the Marketplace.
I uninstalled The Sims 4 Manager.
None of the possible solutions worked for me.

I have the exact same issue. I waited until after the second hotfix to update, removed all mods, verified game files on Steam and cleared cache in the EA app. No mods in the mod folder. The game starts to load, the first loading screen appears and then shuts down 30 secs later saying there is an issue with the EA app on their end. I tried 5 times. The game was working fine in offline mode yesterday afternoon. This is unacceptable. What do you suggest as a solution?

Same problem here, I tried the 50/50 method many times and it doesn't help.
I made few groups with my CC and sometimes the game can launch without problem and another time it doesn't work with the exact same group of CC.
It's not an issue with a CC or a mod, it's the game still not being able to loading correctly CC and mods after the update... the last patch is not patching it's worse than it was before...
Fix the fix please!..

It's so strange, the game worked perfectly fine yesterday after the hotfix. I launched the game with mods/cc enabled and played for a bit without issue. But today I can't launch it at all. I haven't changed anything in the mods folder so I don't think it would be a cc issue, or if it is, it's a weird one. The lastcrash file does say modded: false at the end despite having cc and mods.
PC, Steam base game and some EA app packs, DX11, Memory boost enabled, downloaded the free kit yesterday, not using onedrive for sims, no external programs or anything
