Family tree

Hi everyone. I was checking my family tree in my legacy save and I found out than dead members of my family dissapeared (my sims sibling that I didn’t play with). It happen to my three dead sims already. It started to happen some time ago. I can’t figure out the problem. 😭😭

  • Same here. Quite a few are missing and it's peeving me off. It's like the disappearing sims in my legacy family tree are just disappearing one by one.

  • I’m on ps5 and I’m doing the 26 Generation trophy challenge and I’m on number 19 and since I updated the sims, number 15 and above on the family tree has disappeared, yet the father is still there just not the mother and the picture is blank and I can’t hover over it.. i swear every time they do an update something goes wrong, I still get rain inside and sometimes depending on the task/ social event the task icon is blank. Now I’m wondering if my generation family is gone and have to start over again, which I really can’t be bothered playing sims anymore because of these bugs.

  • This also happened in my game. :(

I made sure that all ghosts are released to the netherworld to prevent that from happening, but it seems this did not change anything. Also, there is no limit to the number of Sims in my game. I changed that in the settings. Very irritating and annoying. Hope this gets fixed soon.

I always thought keeping all your ghosts (that belongs to your legacy) in played households protected them from culling. That if you release them the data of their existence will be culled over time. Basically I been stockpiling playable ghosts to protect my family trees. Isn't that how it works? Unplayed sims and ghosts data gets culled over time, while played and active sims and ghosts data gets kept.

Yeah, maybe I should have also stockpiled my ghosts...

As far as I know, sending ghosts to the netherworld deletes the sims permanently from the game, but the family tree stays intact (and the connection to their name in paintings etc.). Well, at least that's how it was. Maybe the now culled ghosts in my game are the ones, that I didn't send to the netherworld, because they died before that was possible, so they were still in the game and now got deleted. I don't know what to do now. I don't like playing the game if my family trees are breaking apart. :(

If that worked for you before maybe this new update or the life & death pack broke it? The latest update did break a lot of things after all. It sucks that we can't trust the family tree in the game, from 2014 when the game released without a family tree at all it been standard to keep an external family tree. But it is extra work and some of the family tree pages costs money. I have my own family tree system in a spreadsheet. Until a fix is found, that's my only suggestion sadly.

This just happened to me (the game is updated and already with fairies). The first death in my dynasty, my heroine's stepfather died (he belonged to another family, but also active) and a second after his death I checked the tree and his portrait was not there, although her mother still has the status of married to a ghost in her character card.
