[GALLERY] 'Timed Out' error when saving lot to Library but does upload

What is happening: Prior to the Jan 13 update, I received a generic "server error" when I tried to save lots to my gallery. Following the patch notes that said that this issue was fixed, I went through some of my lots to back them up to my library with my updated game.

Attempting to upload a lot now gives me an error message reading "Timed out during upload. Please check internet connection or try again in a minute." When I exit out from this message by clicking "Okay," I return to the window that allows you to set bedrooms/bathrooms and add a description to the lot before uploading. After a minute or two, I then get a green pop-up notification in the corner that the lot has been saved to my library, and it is indeed there when I check. I have not yet tested this with the "Upload to Gallery" button, only the "Save to Library" button.

What I expect to see: I think it would be more useful to just have the "uploading to Gallery" loading animation for longer if it is just continuing to upload it in the background, as it's more reliable than getting an error message and then it actually working a couple of minutes later.

Packs: All except Get Famous, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Journey to Batuu, Fitness, Spooky, Cool Kitchen, Perfect Patio, Bowling, and some of the kits

Mods: MCCC, TOOL, Better Build Buy

    I’m having the same issue—I’ve also tried logging out & repairing the game thinking that was the solution but the notification still appears:/ 

    It’s just with my lots; I uploaded sims with no issue. I have no mods.

    I thought it was just me! I'm having the same issue... I can't save any of my work!!

    Same here! I've repaired my game and cleared my cache and it's still happening. No mods or CC.

  • Hi everyone  ! I've had the same issue in the gallery for a while (first a "server error" message and after the Jan 13 update a "timed out during upload" error) but I reckon I found a solution.

    It seems to me that the problem came from the EA app, not from the game itself. I cleared the app's cache by clicking on "app recovery" (click on the three little lines at the very top left corner, then go to "help" and you'll find the option)

    Furthermore, I regularly encounter a message error when opening the EA app telling that it coudn't connect to wifi but that a simple restart would resolve it (and indeed it does). I think this connection problem is linked to the gallery error.

    Hello!! Thank you so much for this tip! I cleared the cache on the EA app. I went into my save and I was able to save the lot to the gallery! So that worked, however, when placing the lot I saved, it appears blank which is consistent with what was happening originally, so I guess still a win/lose ordeal 

  • I had not encountered this issue until updating for 1.120 patch, which includes a fix for this. However, now I cannot save any lots. Though I get the error messages for everything (households, rooms etc), they all save BUT lots do not.

    I have almost alll of the packs, just missing the last 3 kits. I also tried repairing my game. I keep trying and nothing changes.
