I am having a very similar issue. I have tried multiple different things to eliminate other possibilities but every time I try to delete a wall in build mode the game freezes and I can't do anything ...
Ideas
When I build walls then try to delete it makes the sound as if deleting but the wall/item is still there. After that I won't let me delete/move anything. Not wanting to go through all that building again I try to save but it just keeps "loading" without any option to save. I have restarted the game and my PS5, I've checked for updates for both game and console (all up to date) I've tried deleting lots/households on my gallery (mainly the larger ones)... Nothing seems to work.
