Looks like I'm not the only one. I've updated and restarted multiple times. The inventory won't open. If I go into build mode, I can't get back to live mode and I've had to force an exit every time because game options won't open. Kinda pointless to play when you can't save.

I have the same issue luckily i backed up my saves and everything I don’t have mods or CC I’m on pc I go ito sims panel and it all messed up cat scroll down or save my game it gets stuck In Build mode

I can't save either. On Xbox Series X. It let me save one time, but after playing for another half hour it suddenly won't let me save at all. Clicking the three dots does nothing.
look if you have UI extension mod, thats what causing it

I have this problem too and it is not the UI extension mod because it does it without it in my folder. After a few minutes of game play I just start losing the icons functionality.
For an emergency save, I found that going to neighbourhood view the game will prompt you to save and that save works. I have to force quit then though as nothing else works.
