First I couldn't click on anything once I opened the child's simology panel, I couldn't scroll down on it which was the first thing I noticed was broken, then I couldn't open her inventory, switch to build mode of even save the game. After a restart the same thing happened so I restarted again and didn't go near her simology panel. However, I then was unable to get an adult sim to cook a cake, no options came up after clicking 'cook'. I tried to leave the world and go back in but it didn't work, and then the screen went black although the time was still ticking on. Please fix this ASAP as it's not playable! I have never played with mods or CC.

Have similar problems (and I don't use mods and CC at all) option menu doesn't work at all, my child's simology profile is broken, icons like needs, relationship, skills etc mostly don't work, after clicking on build mod I can't go back to life nod again etc.

me too!! i thought my pc was bugging.. it was the game itself.
I don't play with mods or cc and my game is completely broken too. I can load the game and open save files/start a new save no issue, and can play/pause the game, but everything else won't work. I can't open the gallery, relationships/needs or anything on that panel, can't even access the menu once in game to save or return to main menu, I've had to force quit several times and replay the same 3 in game hours over again.
Tried it again this morning and now I can open the character values and I have this bug where the values show for teens but they're constantly changing. I can also open the help centre, and click on manage worlds but it just stays on the same screen and doesn't go anywhere.
The Sims 4 is so unplayable with each new pack/update it needs a good overhaul, but it's like they don't care as long as they can keep getting us to fork out money for a new pack/kit.

Mine kept messing up my teen and kids simology panels, so I tried removing Parenthood and that stopped hurting it. I think Parenthood is broken.

I am experiencing the same problem and you are right, the game is totally unplayable! I have disabled all cc in my game (I only had eyelashes and a few hairs) and I have repaired the game but the issues have stayed. I can get my sim to do a few actions but the moment the game requires a loading screen, it goes black and glitches and stays that way indefinitely. There is nothing I can do to fix it and I have to force quit every time. I hope they fix this soon because I was hoping to play when the new pack comes out... though at this rate I am concerned about how broken that pack will be too.

All same of the above I'm also experiencing, also like 50% of my mods won't work, Like MCCC won't show up in game. I've reinstalled it like 7 times since the update. Makes me super mad that the sims won't acknowledge the fact that the update broke the game, as usual. Would be of some decency if they at least sent out a letter where they acknowledge the fact that they've seen what we're all saying and that they're working on it ;(
Mine is also completely unplayable, but I can hardly even get into live mode after launching, much less hold an event. Going into CAS buffers until the end of time with no progress, all the UI screens (needs, sim details, inventory) are glitchy or missing entirely, cannot access game menu so I have to force quit from task manager... Was really excited for this update and I bought the pack coming out later today but I won't even get the opportunity to use it.
