Glass texture glitchs basement interior walls when viewed from the ground floor

I am attaching screenshots from taken from ground level (glitched walls in the back) and -1 level (room looking normal). I tried:
-adding objects and lights into the room
-painting the walls
-building the basement room from scratch
-deleting and adding the glass wall
-moving the stairs-having and deleting foundation in the upper floor; right now the building above has no foundation

The glass wall goes to the outside, because the basement is supposed to have an outdoor entrance from the backyard that is sinked and located on -1 level. I think it is the glass shared messing things up as the same thing is actually happening when I try to replace the glass wall with windows.

  • emilyslowsimmer  From your pics and what you've posted, I can't tell what is wrong that you are reporting.  The only thing I see that looks a bit off is the back wall of the lower room.  In one pic, it looks like there is no paint on part of the wall.  Everything else I see appears to be caused by the walls being in drop down.  So, if you can provide some more info specifically about what you see the problem as, it will help me help you a bit better.

If you would like me or another helper to take a look at the lot, one of us will take a look.  All you need to do is upload the lot to the gallery and reply here with the lot name and your userid if different than the one you use here (emilyslowsimmer).

    Hope this helps.

Hi! So to describe it more precisely:

I built a basement with 2 walls facing outdoor area that is also situated at a basement level. I made one of the outdoor-area-facing basement wall a glass wall. When I went back to the ground floor level to see how the whole build looks I noticed that when I look through this glass wall while being on ground level, the interior walls in the back of the basement room glitch out and instead of normal walls you can see a mixture of blue, green and black textures. You can see it on the screenshot 08-02-25_6-18-27.

On the screenshot 08-02-25_5-54-59 you can also see that looking at that basement room from the ground floor and from the left side of the build, it also makes the wall next to the stairs see-through, while I did not place a glass wall wallpaper on it.

I will try to record a video and also upload this build in its current state when I am on my PC.

  • emilyslowsimmer  Thanks for the additional information.  I now have a clearer idea of what the issue is.  From what you've described, the issue is the wall that I mentioned not displaying the wall paint on the back wall of the lower-level room with the glass walls.  Tbh, I'm not sure if this can be fixed because of the differences between how basements and above ground floors work and display when you delete the floor/ceiling between them.  I would like to test the build to see if I can find any way around it so it looks correct when looking down from the upper floor.

On the 2nd issue, there's not much you can do about that.  It's the way walls display in drop down mode. When you have walls all the way up, it looks solid but when the walls are set to either drop down or all the way down, you're going to get what you see.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi again!

So sadly I noticed now that I edited the exact build from the screenshots to not include the glitchy basement after I posted and before I got the reply, but since then YTber SatchOnSims has posted a video where he encounters the same glitch while trying to build something very similar to what I did. Here is the video, I put the timestamp on the right spot where he starts to show off this glitch and how it is happening with stairs/plaftorms and at this point he shows of what happens to the back wall.
