Every time an older sim tries to help a child learn to ride a bike or a child asks for help learning, the interaction is canceled with no reasoning, like being unable to walk there.

I got this issue too, sometimes it is random if a sim child gets the ride the bike milestone despite doing the same way as their sibling and one sibling can get it, but then the other ones does not get the milestone picture in their milestone page. I had for instance triplets and only the oldest got the check off on her milestone page while her other siblings did not get it. I do not play with cc or mods in my game.
