everytime I have a science baby as a single parent, the milestone "[parent] gave birth to a descendant of the grim reaper" pops up. the baby doesn't have the grim-born trait or the birthmark, so it seems to be an issue with the milestone getting triggered

Huh, it's supossed to do that? I had my sim have a science baby with Grim (since try for a baby didn't produce a baby) but I got no milestone from that. The child does have the birthmark and trait, though.
Yeah, I just noticed this as well. I had the baby quite a while ago as they're currently a toddler, but I just now looked at my sim's milestones. Toddler is not a descendent of grim, (doesn't have the trait or the birthmark,) nor does my sim know the grim reaper. So, I just removed the milestone with UI Cheat Extension. Seems doubtful that the milestone would have any impact on gameplay but who knows.
