[GRO] Midlife crisis tasks do not complete when item is already owned

As you can see in this screenshot, one of the tasks for the midlife crisis is to buy a hot tub. He already owns a hot tub and buying one just to complete this task and then deleting it just seems silly to me. This could also be problematic for sims not as financially well off.

All packs and such up to EBN and only using one mod, UI Cheats

  • Still need you to test without mods/cc although it doesn't sound like a mod issue

You know you need to test without. If you put mods as a tag because you didn't test without them, Maxis might ignore your report so you're better off doing it correctly.

It does not matter how many mods you have, one can screw up a lot of things.

Noted. I will do that next time then for sure. This is why I have not went back to using mods but I have to have the one I do use because they refuse to do anything about the Thanatology skill wrecking relationships and every darn sim I have will pick it up by reading on a computer. And since I could not find a cheat to just pop into the command console to remove it, my only alternative is to have this one mod.

So for now it is a moot thing as his midlife crisis has ended and I have no way to test now. I will do it properly next time. 😞

I'm having this problem too. No mods, no CC. One of my sims got the Desire to Create Midlife Crisis. One of the tasks is to Start a Mural. I tried the above and re-purchased the DIY Wall Mural and had my sim start one, but it did not complete (does he have to complete the mural? If so, the task should say something like "Complete a Mural" not "Start a Mural."). He also has the task to Shape a Bonsai Tree 5 times. I purchased the tree for the purpose of completing this, told him to shape it, then had him re-grow the tree so he could shape it again. It should be marked 2/5, but it's still at 0/5.

I haven't tried the other tasks currently on his list yet, but I did complete one so far once I read that he had to go to a museum to view paintings.
