Does not work. And has not worked. Never got a random cousin. Letter. Nothing !!!!  >:(

Nothing ever happens for any of my sims, too. I was disappointed, but didn't know it was a bug. I thought it was just a deadend thing. Would have been a cool feature if it worked though.

There is another thread on this where I've diagnosed that this is an issue with all the stayover events not firing after a single one has fired before. They simply never show up again.

In that thread you can see that this interaction DOES work...if you do it before any other stayover call happens. If one has ever happened, it does not work.

according to a sims 4 video i saw a while ago,

after having your sim research genealogy a couple of times, a long lost relative it suppose to show up claiming they're family, or they're suppose to call your sim saying so. It's one of the two 😅

Wait.... it's supposed do something? What is it supposed to do? It's never really done anything for me either. I thought it was just something fun for the sims to do on the computer, like browse the internet, or watch funny videos.

SAME! Nothing happens for me either.
