I also am having the same issue. Started playing after downloading business and hobbies and then my sim got abducted while doing pottery at the town meetup. She then preceded to get abducted 4 times in total within playing for 45ish minutes. I had to stop playing cause it was just getting so ridiculous how often it was happening.
