whenever i go into cas or exit the game while my sim is making nectar, the nectar maker breaks and i'm unable to continue making the nectar or discard the batch, the only options when clicking on it ...

I tested this and can't duplicate the issue.
Does it break for you with any means of taking the Sim to CAS ? Are you using a cheat or going to CAS with another Sim ? Does that matter ?
Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.
Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.
