Ideas
I played for a while with the pack. I sent my teen sim to class so I could make several observations and see how much this bug affects gameplay. Here go:
- Daily school activities are not updated. (You can still see the class schedule by clicking on the sim, but the whole school routine becomes more intuitive than structured.)
- Daily tasks are automatically marked as completed, regardless of whether they were actually done or not.
(Rebellious students are completely frustrated here. No matter how much they want to cause trouble, they’ll do well anyway. LOL) - Rebellious students skip detention with no consequences. (Actually, this part became completely confusing. A high school sim still gets detention if caught skipping class, but there’s no available time to serve it, and no indication of what to do.)
- When there's an active holiday (even ones not marked as a day off, like Lottery Day), school activities are unavailable, completely replaced, and the school day becomes useless.
This is the clearest sign that something is very wrong with the current interface. Even though you can work around it by canceling the holiday before school starts, it's still frustrating to think you can't experience both things. - End-of-day performance reports don’t reflect the sim's actual performance.
(My sim did none of the school routine and still got an excellent performance rating. On the other hand, when they did everything right, including taking notes during class, they did poorly.
This is still confusing to me. I'm not sure if it's related to this bug, but it seemed odd.) - Extracurricular activities are not affected.
- Sports days also seem to be working fine.
- Prom is also okay.
- Career day hasn’t shown up for me in two sim weeks. So that still needs further testing.
- I haven’t reached graduation yet, so I don’t know if it’s affected.
Anyway, it seems that most of the issues can be worked around to some extent. But obviously, it shouldn't be that way. This makes the high school gameplay feel even more monotonous and dull.
Re: Career Day, my sim just had that happen. It's (obviously) not visible on the School UI like normal, so no indication that it would occur when I went to school, I only knew it was Career Day because of the calendar. It did prompt at the correct time for my sim to travel to the auditorium, but there were no tasks updated in the UI when I did. It functioned normally, the other teens were all watching the career presentations, and the Adult sims had all the Career Day options to ask them about their career, watch presentation, etc. There just was no tasks for my Teen to complete (as expected with this broken UI, tbh).

I at least had the usual task pop up for this event, even with the borked ui (asking three adults about their career.) I do have a mod that adds more tables and careers, unsure that would make a difference though.
