CiwayW made a mod to fix this bug within a week of this issue appearing.
Why it takes EA so long to fix what modder's fix in weeks is baffling.
They should be hiring the modders at this point, as much as they end up breaking. My game is basically all mod at this point due to various coding issues and poor choices (Infant Ai is still a nightmare and romantic satisfaction was a disaster from the start).
It's because modders care about the game they play. EA just cares about getting our money, and they already have that.
