Apparently, many of us have this problem. Prom is gone from the calendar, so it does make sense that no one can be invited to it. It is probably the latest patch that caused this.

PS: I have a save file made on November 30 that still has prom in the calendar, and that particular prom works fine even now when I load that file. So it is very likely that the calendar is causing the problem and that the patch from December 2 did this.
Sucks that it doesn't work at all right now :/ I guess the best we can do is hope the bug is fixed soon, it's pretty frustrating for my teenage sims to miss out on prom. Thank you for the response!
