I am not a programmer, and this is what helped me. Thanks to the laptop that stopped working in December and which had saved old data, I found the problem on the new one. During the holidays, I bought two expansions and checked each one. Be prepared to lose what you have created during that time, and make a folder to save your worlds. In my case, the problem is Enchanted by Nature. For those of us who are self-taught and not technically skilled:
1. Go to the main menu when turning on the game, that's the three dots in the upper right corner.
2. Select 'Select Pack'
3. Turn off Enchanted by Nature
After that, the 'Prom' option will return in every world you have with teens, and you will be able to play it, but without this world, which is visually amazing but caused the problem because it can't work with other expansions. I won’t play it until it is tested again and improved.
Interesting...so the problem is Enchanted By Nature? Can anyone without this pack confirm if it is still happening to them though??

I have the same problem. No prom, no invitation, no interaction related to prom. I don't have Enchanted by Nature.
It’s not the bloody pack they’re just pulling things out of their butts and not fixing things.
This didn't come from someone at EA, is just a casual player but others have confirmed it isn't the pack.
