Inconsistent behavior with Friezes and spandrels

bluqueen925​   As far as I know, there should be a way to delete the frieze from a single wall tile on a PS4, just like there is a way to do it on the computer version of the game.  I did a search and found this:  

In The Sims 4, the PS4 equivalent to the Shift key is to hold down the Circle button (O) and then press the X button (X). This combination allows for precise object placement and advanced interactions within the game.

I'm not sure how this actually works but I would try holding the circle button while you use the sledgehammer and select the frieze inside the room.  On PC, when you highlight the section for deletion, it changes color so you can see what will be deleted.
