Forgive and bear with me, I'm going to try my best to explain the issue I've been having as a casual player with zero tech expertise...
I noticed the issue a couple weeks ago while playing in Build Mode, but all of the buttons and icons' selection areas aren't centered- like, they aren't aligned with where each respective button is on screen..? I have to click around the very edge of the desired button or icon, and in some cases the actual area is very small and precise. I thought maybe it had to do with a mod I recently installed to improve hospital staff functionality, but the issue persisted even after the mod was removed.
I tried closing and reopening the game, restarting my computer- even uninstalling and reinstalling the game hasn't resolved the issue! I'd need advice to try anything outside of that... I don't know if it'll help, but I'll list off all the DLC I currently have for the game. In the order listed in the EA app, I have StrangerVille, Seasons, Paranormal Stuff Pack, Legacy Edition, Laundry Day Stuff, Jungle Adventure, Holiday Celebration Pack, Get Together, Get To Work, Get Famous, Everyday Clutter Kit, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Industrial Loft Kit, Blooming Rooms Kit, Basement Treasures Kit and Backyard Stuff.
I've been playing on an HP laptop, Windows 11.. I dunno what other information to provide, but I'll do my best to cooperate if it means solving the issue. Many thanks in advance.
Could you please provide the following information
- Are you using any other mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
- Please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing.
The only item in my mods folder is something called "Resource.cfg" from 2020, and I have no other mods or custom content installed. If I really have to delete it, I will- as long as it doesn't nuke the whole game.
As for screenshots, I unfortunately can't figure out how to include my cursor in the shots (I tried both the in-game camera and Windows + Shift + S. No dice) so I just circled where the cursor was when I took the screenshots.
Exhibit AExhibit BI hope these are decent examples of what I mean. In Exhibit A, the cursor is near centered on the Notification Wall, but the Options Menu is highlighted instead. In Exhibit B, the cursor is hovering over the Doors button, but Walls and Empty Rooms is lit up instead. It's like this everywhere in the game.
Do you have the same issues if you play in full windowed mode ?
The resource.cfg is a game file. You don't need to remove that one.

Oh- yep! It looks like playing in full windowed mode fixes the issue. Not exactly ideal, as I like to keep tabs on my computer's battery, but I'll take whatever I can get at this point lol. Tysm!!!!!
