'Keep Furniture' not working when moving

Eloped immediately while in one Sim's home.  Opted to move into the other sims home once married.  did not select to sell furnishings.  Nothing happened.  A tip said I can combine households in edit neighborhood.  I presume that means edit worlds.

had to select the home button on their profile for them to travel home to the other house.  When there I checked the inventory and nothing was transferred.

Fortunately she was rather poor and had sold all her paintings. He's a millionaire so will buy her what she wants.  Glad we didn't move into her house.

Playing on a Mac.  Fully updated game.

Several times now when I moved my sims to a new lot and select "keep furniture", it instead deletes all my furniture and spams the max amount of money. This has been happening for so long, at least a year. I had to keep reloading to the previous save and loosing gameplay.

It had happened to me in my previous save and I thought it was because of mods.
Disabled everything after the new update, started a new save and it's still happening. When I opened the house inventory the only thing in there was an unlockable from a promotion, that hadn't been a part of the inventory before I moved houses.

  • So I've had the glitch that when I move and try to keep furniture they don't have their furniture in their inventory and the family fund is wrong. Here's how I worked around it. I move them to any other lot but I would recommend an empty one and sell the furniture. Pay attention to what their fund should be. Once they move I cheat their money to what the game told me it should be. Move them back to the old house where all the furniture should still be and then move them with keep furniture and it should work properly this time.

    Good luck everyone

  • I'm having this issue too. I make my Sims move and choose "keep furniture," but it's not there after the move. Also, whether I choose to keep or sell the furniture, the money doesn't add up after the move. In the menu for my current game, I can see that my Sims should get 101,000 Simoleons if they keep their furniture, but they only have the cash amount they had before the move (around 32,000). The money issue has been there for a while now, for about a year. As for the missing furniture, I'm not sure, since I usually don't bring it with me.

  • I have a sim. Every time I try to move her from one lot to another (Using the phone > Move Household) I select "Keep Furniture" on the move. Sim has plenty of money left over. I move, open the lot and all of her possessions that were not already in the inventory are gone.

The items in the household inventory are still there.

I did not have mods on when it happened (I haven't turned them on since 12/2 update), but there were mods in the save. I did have several storage items, like the sticker box and a household keepsake box.

LadyAlpha001  When you move a sim and keep the furniture, the only thing that ends up in a sim's personal inventory is whatever was in it before you moved.  When you keep the furniture, everything goes into the household inventory.   Nothing goes into the sim's personal inventory.  From what you described, it sounds like everything is working as designed.  Now, obviously you've lost some things in the move, so something happened you weren't expecting.  I suspect that the things you lost were in a container of some sort (storage chest, fridge, DU student chest, cardboard sticker box, keepsake box, etc.).  Is that what happened or was it something else?

When you move, it is always best to empty the containers and either place the contents in a sims or household inventory before you move.  Don't rely on the containers keeping their contents when they go into the household inventory when you move.   And if you save a copy of the sim or lot to your Library and reinstall them, everything in both inventories is gone as well as everything that was in any container on the lot.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi LadyAlpha001

I merged your post with the bug report but to be sure, the furniture from the house is not moved to the household inventory, right ? Only the things that you already had in there when you moved are in there ?

With Keep furniture you should have all the items in the house moved to the household inventory as CGrant said but with this current bug, it seems that the furniture is removed from the house but doesn't appear in the household inventory.

If that's the case, please upvote this bug. If you do have everything in the household inventory that was in your house, please tag me to let me know.
