This just happened to me as well (a year after this original post). My sim met her current partner via Cupid's Corner & he was from the gallery. In CAS, the male sim has a male voice, but in live mode, his voice is female.

Same thing, well, I'm glad I now know what the issue is, I just wish I knew before my two sims fell in love. The male sim she fell in love with from Cupids Corner was doing just fine until 4 days ago, when he moved into the household, now it's making my gameplay aggravating. Hopefully, someone can come up with a fix, fingers crossed.
