And the fears of being alone or cheated on makes it worse not only is the relationship "dissatisfied" but then you have them sad and crying constantly sad about the romance sad about the fears it's like omg shut up!!! It's unnecessary drama in the game.
This - I don't think I'd mind this issue as much if it wasn't for the fears and moodlets. The crazy thing is, the fears and sad moodlets also happen when the relationship is IMPROVING, which is an absolute pain in the ***.
When I switch to a new household in my rotational save with a married couple, for example, the couple will both be Very Unsatisfied (100% of the time, no matter how satisfied they were previously). So then I have to spend time spamming romantic interactions to improve it. But once they improve to Unsatisfied, they have a chance of developing the Fear of Being Alone and they always get a sad moodlet (that doesn't go away even if they quickly progress to Fine). This happens over and over again for each household and it's so frustrating.
It's so incredibly tedious and doesn't feel like playing a game, it feels like a chore. I'd really like to know if there's any chance they might ever fix this (i.e. freeze RS decay for inactive couples) or give any workaround at all (such as a cheat for RS, a toggle for RS decay, or something else). I'm so sick of this game feeling like work.
