Moodlets/Quirk Notifications for infants after Infant has aged up

Xbox one, all packs.

I aged up a sim from infant to YA in CAS and now she is constantly getting the notification "Quirk discovered: gassy" which is for infants, she will sit on the ground weirdly (probly the infant animation) when it happens and get a sad moodlet related to the quirk.

I have cheats enabled and tried to remove the trait twice with the cheat (traits.remove_trait trait_Human_Infant_Element_Gassy) but it always pops back up.

Edit By Crinrict:

Currently known instances where this happens

  • Some Sims downloaded from the gallery are still affected from the bug that was fixed
  • Using the CAS to age up the Sims will cause this.

  • If I use a cheat to age up my sims, I’m finding that if they had the ‘charmer’ trait, this continues on into the later life stages. They constantly have a sad moodlet for not enough attention / interactions even when they’ve socialised with others and the bar is full. I’ve tried using cheats to remove the moodlet and using aspiration points to get rid of it but it always comes back. It is making the sims unplayable because they are always sad.

you need to cheat remove the trait that's probably stuck and not the moodlet.

Thanks for trying to help - I can’t when they’re aged up because they aren’t ‘charmers’ anymore because they are no longer toddlers if that makes sense!

  • I have had this issue for months now. I use mods and cc but this issue persists even with all my mods and cc completely taken out of my game. For context, I play on my laptop and the game runs well other than this consistent glitch.

Essentially, Sims age up from infants with a constant smell cloud like they have a dirty diaper that remains even until they're elders, they fold into an infant pose and wiggle like the infants randomly every so often, and they get infant quirks, notifications and moodlets (and sometimes toddler moodlets and notifications too) in every subsequent life stage.

I have noticed that this glitch only happens when an infant is aged up with a dirty diaper, otherwise the infant ages up fine and has none of these weird glitches the rest of their life.

It is very annoying, especially as I am playing the 100 baby challenge so I constantly have infants aging up. It ruins photos of the Sims because the smell cloud is always visible! And the notifications are so often that I have to clear my notification wall really frequently. Also, the Sims get uncomfortable, sad or angry moodlets from infant-related/toddler-related moodlets that are obviously not relevant, like being gassy or not wanting to wake up etc.

All of the below screenshots were taken within a 10 minute timeframe - this demonstrates how persistent and obvious this issue is!

Please look into this and fix it! Thank you

i downloaded an infant from the gallery and started playing it young adult through the cas. after a while it starts to get moodlet about the gassy quirk and becomes sad. after a few seconds it disappears on its own. sometimes it suddenly sits on the floor (just like an infant) and smells like it has a dirty diaper. the save i played has never been used mode before and is new.

  • No idea if this is old or new. I searched a bit but found nothing related.

It has happened in my game after installing AA, but that also included patching my game (likely a couple patces).

What happens: Sim will clip to a sitting on ground animation for about 2-3 seconds. The animation is obviously not matching a full grown sim, but might suit a toddler, or maybe big dog animation? The animation is not frozen, but neither is there any movement that can help spotting te exact animation.

(last picture: sim might be affected by chilly weather and no clothing)

This has been happening to several sims in several households. In one household it happens to the same two sims every time I check the household. It doesn't matter what sim is actively played, and it happens if they are in a chat situation or if they are all by themselves. There is no action/que indicating they are performing any specific action or wanting to do so.

The weird animation lasts for only a few seconds and then the game continues as normal. It might repeat later during the session though. Game is not crashing or hanging.

So far I only noticed this with new sims. I created many new households in Gibbi Point, and all cases relate to those households. It happens on lots in Gibbi Point (the household pictured doesn't even have a house = empty lot), but also in other worlds.

It seems to isolate to a few individuals. In a house of 7 members (pictured), 2 YA men keep sitting down. They have no common trait. I also eptied theit inventories (one was empty all along).

I removed my entire Mods folder and deleted the thumbscache file. This changed nothing.

I also took them to CAS and stripped off all outfits (5 lower categories) and head assets (3 lower categories. This changed nothing. Did not remove hair and beards.

I will take notes when I see this on more sims, in case it is something spreading. So far I saw it on 3 or 4 new sims only, I think they were all born in game (not created in CAS), but aged up in CAS.

That might be interesting. I did not notice any top-right-corner notifications, but I will check the moodlets which I di not pay attention to.

Anyways, in this household there are 4-5 kids all born in game but aged up in CAS and it seems to be only two of the YA that are affected. I'll investigate further.

    Case solved.

It turned out there were quirks notified, but that the list was full so I had to click them to see them. There were several infant quirks, so I take it that aging the infant in CAS caused it all. Hoping it will calm down when all related quirks were discovered. Or, maybe if I revert age in CAS and age the infant up to toddler by cake, then age up to YA in CAS. Never had a similar situation, so i assume it is limited to the infant lifestage.

Anyway, it's good to know it is nothing that can spread in my game.

    Thanks for helping out!

easiest is to just remove the quirks with a mod.

    I'll merge this.
