After the latest free update, which included the quest line "The Comfort of Nature", I changed my attribute to Freelance Botanist. One of my Sims is quite high in gardening, but no matter what I do —whether weeding, watering, or planting —it will not update the attribute at all, and I cannot therefore finish the quest.

When completing the nature aspirations for the nature quest, it’s not registering what I do. The fishing aspiration won’t register I have caught any fish or fished in different locations. I have tried all nature aspirations and they are all the same. I have repaired the game and removed all MODS. Still the same thing.
Please remove all your mods/cc and test on a vanilla game.
Best is to rename the user folder and try a new save game that never had mods/cc in to see if that works

Did you also try a new Sim/save after removing mods as well as delete the localthumbcache file ?
After removing the mods, I played through that step, and it worked as expected. Thank you for your assistance. 👏
