New Item Highlight not going away for several categories in Buy/Build

Tried searching, but couldn't see if it's just me or a generally known bug..
No matter how many times I look through the categories marked with a star, it refuses to go away. It doesn't hamper gameplay, but is mildly annoying in a game that is annoying enough as is.
Tried restart, deleted the localthumbcache and took out the Mods folder. Nothing changed.

I am having same issue, is there a fix yet?

This is also happening on console, so should probably have the PC tag removed or have the console tags added. Unfortunately the fix posted by crinrict doesnt work for console players so we're just stuck with this issue until its fixed.

So far yes. If filter by special event on the right hand panel where you filter for pack. Then hover over the object opening each recolor, you will see they new items. However, doing so is only finding some of the recolors that are new with the star. I can’t find the rest. It’s the new object recolors.

I've just gotten the Businesses and hobbies pack and now my Appliances Misc. Has the new items tag stuck on it.  None of my other categories have that and it wasn't there before I downloaded the pack.  I don't own all of the newest packs, so the items might be tied to other such packs.  I don't have the time to list every such pack I own now.    

same here! all the same categories too. it's SOOO annoying. like not disruptive per say, but it's def a bit distracting when im building which is often!
