Sim joined painter career, promoted as normal until level 6 where we have to choose a career path. After this, no more promotions, just earning a raise. I tried with multiple careers and it still occurs. Every time my sim finishes work and starts daily task, the performance bar rests from excellent to average.

Is anyone else having the same problem where it gives your Sim raises instead of promoting them? I'm not even at the top of my career yet.

Entrepreneurial is a base game trait, but it can not be equipped or even viewed in Create-A-Sim mode. It is a reward trait bought with satisfaction points and you can check if your Sims have it in live mode by accessing the personality tab of the control bar in the bottom right corner of your screen. The icon for it is a black suitcase overlayed with a a jagged green upwards arrow:
If they do have it, you can get rid of it by using the cheat traits.remove_trait trait_Entrepreneurial (which does work without testingcheats for me).
I am having this exact problem! It is really frustrating, as soon as i pick a career path, every day after getting the performance bar to Good or Excellent, it resets to average. i spent about 2 hours trying to get it higher before i realised it was resetting.
I haven't played for months, and now trying to get back into it, getting this issue is really frustrating because i cant progress in any career at all. i tried switching careers, and same problem. I complete the tasks, i get raises regularly, never get promoted

Currently the only trait i have equipped is "loves outdoors". I have also tried changing Aspirations, and still performance resets from excellent to average by the time sim next goes to work. it does not decline back down, it just jumps. I have tested leaving the Job tab up to see and it just jumps back down to Average a few hours after she gets home

My preference would be for you to update your request so it's not so buried in the thread. It took an awful lot of scrolling to find this message from you.
I have run into this in a save that I hadn't played since late April. Promotions for this sim were working fine at that time, and she does/did have the Entrepreneurial Reward trait. The sim in the picture had just returned home from work for at least the third day in a row of receiving raises but no promotion. I had noticed the day before that when she came home the daily task had not reset and was still showing as completed. Traveling with the sim caused the daily task to reset and it's at that point that the career performance bar also resets to the average position. This sim also has the ambitious trait. In the picture you can see that even though she didn't get a promotion she has the moodlet resulting from a promotion for an ambitious sim, which shouldn't have been the case.
I saved and exited the game after taking the screenshot. When I reloaded the save later the daily task bar and performance bar had reset. I decided to remove the Entrepreneurial trait reward via the cheat since I don't use mods or cc in my game. That did fix the issue for me with that household. The daily task no longer still shows completed when she gets home from work, it has reset as it should. She was promoted on the second workday after removing the trait.
Same issue on Ps5 - so of course no mods and no CC. Also, no cheats because I'm trying to get a handful of trophies (I, Spy; Stellar Work; The Pen is Mightier.) Here I am with all my Sims making a ton of simoleons but since their account is already at the max, it's incredibly pointless to bother making more. Unfortunately, they do all have the Entrepreneurial trait ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ... So, I'm stuck waiting for a fix. Anyone have any suggestions or luck with a workaround for console players that doesn't use cheats?.... What if I use a re-traiting potion? ๐ค Omg I'd lose everything, wouldn't I? ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ตโ๐ซ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
My sims are just stuck at average even after a full day of work "working hard", completing daily tasks, fully maxed skills and a good moonlet. They just keep earning a raise.
Me too. My sim is in the science career. She is at level 7 with 8 raises. I guess I will just cheat to promote her at this point.... ok even weirder, at the end of the day she jumped from lvl 7 with 8 raises to level 7 with 12 raises!!!! I don't have any mods.
I'm having the same problem, I don't use mods and never have. My sim has entreprenurial trait, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
