When my engaged Sims try to get married the bride is not wearing her wedding gown and she disappears from the lot after a bit. The Sims can get married if you do it at the beginning of the party however the party never ends. I was also not able to make a wedding cake and I was not able to complete all of the achievements like "have the betrothed kiss". They kissed but it did not check off as completed.
