Hello, I too have this bug where paid mentorship doesn't work. I also thought it was meant to be for the new pack and was mistakenly added to the base game. But if that's the case, why does this feature get mentioned in the Mentoring part of the live mode Lessons in the base game? Could it actually be meant for the base game but is currently bugged?
In addition to that, the new 'Super Mentor' reward trait (that replaced the original Mentor reward trait) is also in base game and it mentions 'earning more simoleons with paid mentoring'.
I think it is actually base game functionality
