Not getting paid for mentoring

Isn't the getting paid a thing from the pack ? Did they say you can also get paid in base ?

Do you have an actual interaction to get paid ? Didn't have a chance to play yet.

EDIT: OK. I see what you mean. I think the option shouldn't show up without the new pack so it's a bug either way.

Hello, I too have this bug where paid mentorship doesn't work. I also thought it was meant to be for the new pack and was mistakenly added to the base game. But if that's the case, why does this feature get mentioned in the Mentoring part of the live mode Lessons in the base game? Could it actually be meant for the base game but is currently bugged?

I think so, yes.

In addition to that, the new 'Super Mentor' reward trait (that replaced the original Mentor reward trait) is also in base game and it mentions 'earning more simoleons with paid mentoring'.

I was wondering if paid mentorship was meant to be Basegame, because it does not work at all for me. I tried both PC and Console. I click paid mentorship and they mentor for a really quick time and I do not get paid. And there sometimes when the person being mentored didn’t stop using the item (chess table for example) until their needs went bad and I had to rest them. 

I hope it’s Basegame, but with the way it acts so broken I’m not sure it is. I’m a little shocked that the sims team are not discussing this as a new Basegame feature. Also they didn’t fixes for new lot feature being accidentally being in the Basegame, but didn’t mention this one.

Well, it would be good if the sims team would fix this feature or just remove from the Basegame if it’s not meant to be there,

I don't know if it's supposed to be available or not, but I have been able to do it since before the expansion pack - possibly since the last patch. I don't recall if my Sim got paid or not, but I did also experience the Sim I was mentoring being stuck playing chess until they passed out lol.
