I've seen a 5 year old bug report marked "OPEN" for this, but it is locked.
Sims reset every time they craft a herbal remedy with the herbalism skill.
They will stand by the grill, brew the remed...
Ideas
I tested all the grills I have available in my game. These 2 grills are the only one's where the Herbalism potions can be easily removed from the grill. The sims will indeed pick up the potion and look for a place to sit down before putting it in their inventory or just put it in their inventory if there is no place to sit. All the rest of the grills, I literally have to put the grill and the potion that is on the grill that I cannot see but I know is there... in my sims inventory and then they seperate. Then I have to put the grill back in game to use. Because of this... all my outdoorsy sims only use 1 of these 2 grills.
