This is a recurrent bug in my not so berry save. I'm ONLY on gen 2 and the patriarch continously is made the brother of gen 2's father sim, making his partner his niece. I've replaced the sim multiple times with a version I saved of the affected sim (the son in law to be). the affected sim's PARENTS (the Fengs) once showed up in the family tree as both of their parents (tho they were not). I had to use mccc to get rid of the roaming fengs. I'm about to add the fengs back in as Fabian's parents and move them out to see if it helps I saved the family early on in the gameplay as I liked how they looked). I'll let you know how that goes. If it can slow or end the cycle where I close the game and reopen to find the bug back, I'll be super happy.
UPDATE: I tried adding the fengs back and moving them back to their old apartment. But true to the description, the moment I tried to enter CAS with my family, the family tree is IMMEDIATELY borked again - it happens STRAIGHT IN CAS - you'll see hte relationships change in the relationship panel and you cannot alter them. I'm ONLY on Gen 2, so I'm hoping for a cure for this bug before we end the legacy :) ALSO can anyone speak to whether or not the bug follows the household? Like, if I put this household in a new save after saving them to my library will this bug be transferred to the new save? I'd really hate to do it, because they have so many relationships in the game, but again, I'm only gen 2 so if I'm GOING to move to a new save, now would be the time. Appreciate anyone's feedback who also has this issue if they've tried plunking their affected family in a new save.
UPDATE 7.31.2025: So I tried accessing the household through household management in the save menu and something strange happened: as expected, my heir IMMEDIATELY was made the niece of her intended husband, BUT when I went back into the household in live mode and checked the relationship, she was NOT his niece and they were partners - when i checked the family tree, NOTHING had changed (instead of her father being made her boyfriends brother as usually happens when I access the family in live mode while playing the household). So, at least now I know I CAN make changes in outfits, etc without the bug recurring (maybe?)? This is the WEIRDEST bug I've ever had.
