A few minutes into playing after updating, my sim gets a call from her cousin to say that the cousin is now in a relationship with her own brother. I went into the other family to check and sure enough they have a romance bar, and are tagged siblings, sweethearts, and partners. This is NOT okay.

I'm having this issue too! My partnered lesbian Sims just had a baby, and their status changed to siblings! Their poor baby is labeled as Nephew for one of them, its giving me such a migraine trying to find a workaround or a fix for this. Not even cheats are working to rectify this
Hey! Has anybody found a fix for this? I tried MCC and it reverted back after I open the game from saving. I gave both sims' parents, that didn't work either. They are both female and when I tried removing their marriage it wouldn't let them marry. It also won't let them renew their vows, but the option is still there?! What should I do? I don't have any CC other than a few create-a-sim stuff, no game script mods except MCC. 😔
My married Sims just became siblings out of nowhere?! I am shocked how long this bug is a problem and EA is not willing to fix it. It's almost like they WANT siblings to be married... Pls share as much as you can on social media (and don't forget to tag them) so this bug won't keep destroying hours and hours of work. Thank you <3
I’m affected by this bug too – my married Sims also turn into siblings. It’s been around for years and still no fix! 😭💔 We really need to speak up more! Post on Twitter/X, tag @TheSims and @EAHelp, comment on Instagram – maybe then they’ll finally do something.
I doubt it. I was having the same problem with one of my saves I'd had open since october. I had to start from the beginning with a new save file. Apparently, it's a common thing though?? I've seen a lot of people talking about it, but nobody has a fix that sticks.
I just encountered this bug unfortunately. Just after I have upgraded my married lesbian fairies house and they celebrated their infant aging up to a toddler. I noticed the past few saves it had them as sisters but they were able to do romantic interactions which is odd. I did notice their romance falling super quickly even more than normal however (and yes I've played since the new romance pack and it was even quicker than after that).
One of the wives did use the skillful sleeping before all of this happened. I only noticed this after I just opened up my save and tried to have them do something romantic. It has them showing up as both sisters and spouses. I don't want any Game of Throne shenanigans in my game! This issue has been going on for years and I've been playing for 10+ years and never had this happen before! I play my game sometimes with CC/mods and sometimes vanilla. This time I am using CC/mods but they're not relationship or sim related, they're object related if that means anything.
Also opening up the daughter's (Ava) family tree, it shows one invisible parent over mom#1 and 2 invisible parents over mom #2 which is odd since one is a rando NPC fairy townie (first one/Nadya) and one is made from scratch by me (the latter one/Amai).
I have tried to go into CAS to fix the relationship but it already has them as spouses. I tried to change it to household member but it doesn't switch it just stays as spouses.
I am currently trying to give both of them parents to see if I can force the game into understanding that they are NOT blood related and have different parents. I will update if this helps.
Update: Making parents unfortunately still had the same glitch with the parents. I'm done with this... I'm just not in the mood to play sims for a while now.
i am playing a legacy challenge and my sim just adopted a baby. his boyfriend has been living with them and i was like "oh cute he can adopt the baby too and they can parent together!"
WRONG.
i didn't really care that the baby only became the boyfriend's baby because i just re-adopted her from my initial sim, but for some reason their family tree now says they are entirely biological brothers and that my sim's (now-former) daughter is his niece. i have tried to get rid of their relationship multiple times but to no avail. please help. i liked the boyfriend but now i fear i have to delete him or something because this is just weird.
I noticed a recent bug where my married sims are now tagged as sisters, and I cannot change this. I've tried cas full edit mode but their relationship is tagged correctly in cas. I've used the UI cheats mod to try and cheat their relationship, but this isnt working either. They've been married for forever with 3 kids, and now their relationship is declining rapidly because they cant do anything romantic together :( I've troubleshooted by removing mods/cc, updating mods, repairing the game, updating the game, etc - but nothing has worked.
Hi there, I'm experiencing the exact same bug. My two married male Sims suddenly get labeled as siblings, which blocks any romantic interaction.
I’ve tested this both with and without mods, and the issue keeps happening. Even when I remove the "sibling" relationship using UI Cheats, they still can’t be romantic with each other. The only workaround I’ve found so far is to clone one of them, but that’s time-consuming and the problem always comes back eventually.
