Photo Booth/Graduation Pics turning black when places from Gallery/Library

Omg you are a literal godsend!!! I may have been misinformed about what I said regarding manually retrieving old save files, so I decided to just recover the save file where all the photos are good and save them to a room and that appears to have worked! Sadly there are a few photos that I think have been lost for good, but most of them were able to be retrieved. Thank you soooo much for this work-around <3

My issue is I can’t recover my graduation portraits or photobooth photos from my pre january 13th save where the photos are still okay and put them in my new save via the library. Idk if I am saying this correctly and everyone I tell seems to think I’m saying photos that already turned black. If the photos were taken with the phone or with the sim camera they can be placed from the library fine. This has to be related. I tried to report it here in the forum but it was marked as a duplicate even though I am not seeing anyone reporting they cant place the pictures from the library. 

This is exactly my problem! Graduation photos and photobooth photos won’t work. I’m just thinking i have to come to terms with them being gone forever 😭

It's currently unclear what's going on hence all the info needed. If you have saves or other info asked to provide, please do so.

I guess I’m not making myself clear 😭 I am really trying. I held on to a save from before the January 13th patch. All the photos are safe there. Saved them in a room and then saved the room to my library. When i place the room in my new save from the library the graduation portraits and photobooth photos turn black. All the rest will place just fine. If you need my save which one do you need? The current save or the save from before January 13th?

I've been doing a lot of testing on my own. As far as I can tell, the bug introduced with the January patch has been resolved, at least I have been unable to trigger it despite all my best attempts.

The new issue I see people having is that in trying to recover lost photos from old saves, the method of using the gallery to transfer photos between saves works only for photos taken with the phone or camera. "Generated" photos like graduation pictures, Lovestruck reward photos, photobooth photos etc cannot be transferred this way and will turn black when imported from the gallery.

I'm guessing this is because this type of photo is created in a different way from normal photos?

So far this issue has been 100% replicable for me. Just put the photos in a room, save to gallery, place the room back on lot and they will turn black. But again, this only affects these "special" photos. Normal photos are imported without issue.
