I'm trying the plant-a-sim quest for the first time, and my plant Sims (I tried with 2) don't have the option to absorb solar energy from plants. I've tried on many different plants at different time...

I have the same problem. PlantSims definitely used to be able to absorb solar energy from plants. It was a base game feature. I have video footage from three years ago of my PlantSim doing just that (I have included 2 screenshots from that footage). But now the option isn't there (as you can see in my other 2 screenshots). I tried with a Sim with higher gardening skill and there still was no option. Even after reloading the save, there was still no option. This is with no mods and I don't have the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack.
