I'm trying the plant-a-sim quest for the first time, and my plant Sims (I tried with 2) don't have the option to absorb solar energy from plants. I've tried on many different plants at different time...

I'm having this same issue and just trying to see if any solutions have been found? I've tried plants in planters, plants in the ground, sunny days, rainy days, my Plant Sim has a high gardening skill level, but the option to absorb energy just never appears. We can't complete the scenario without doing it.
Sent in my save file, waited a couple days checking it hoping fpr something to change and then just failed the scenario and gave up. I always thought it was a way better to earn things from the Rewards Store, but after trying everything I could I gave up since this doesnt appear to be a priority concern. So far the only suggested solution is to get Enchanted by Nature.
