So I've been trying to accomplish one of my sims aspirations, that being witness the death of a sim. No matter what I do the aspiration doesn't get checked, my sim is right there watching when it hap...

Was experiencing the same issue (PC version, no mods/CC, witness death action would trigger, but it wouldn't result in aspiration completion)
However, after I maxed out the relationship with the sim until they fully despised each other and, upon that sim's death, immediately selected the "watch with sadistic glee," the aspiration milestone triggered as complete! I guess the milestone is coded to only count deaths of enemy sims, and taking that "watch with sadistic glee" action is mandatory in order to complete the aspiration?
I tried this on playstation and it worked. Thank you so much. I hope they change the description to seeing an enemy die

This made all the difference! After 3 separate sims dying, the sadistic glee part was what was missing.
