At this point, I'm just going to assume they don't care and have no interest in fixing it. They just want to continue pushing new content to sell. I might be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. However, after they laid off all those people on the bug fixing team, the evidence is sadly leaning towards that.
Also, you can't blame the developers either. If they have like only five people working on bug fixing, there's not much they can do. The blame should go to whoever is responsible at EA for the event of all those layoffs of developers on the bug fixing team. They knew how bad the state of the game is in. They knew that there are game breaking bugs, such as the save game corruption bug. They knew all of this, yet they decided to do what they did. What's even more saddening is that it's their own game and franchise, and they're just treating this gem so terribly.
I don't even know what to think about this whole situation anymore. I am extremely disappointed with what they're doing.
