[ROM] Sim can't eat Mac and Cheese from the cauldron (Ingredients present)

There are 3 cooking choices for the cauldron. Mac & cheese, Chili, and  Cioppino. My Sim is maxed out on cooking and alchemy. She can cook all 3, but she can only collect and eat the Chili and  Cioppino.
For the Mac & Cheese, her only options are transform, experiment, or discard contents.
(transform the cauldron because she has the sim ray)

I have all the necessary fresh ingredients for all the dishes in her inventory. She can make them just fine. But she can't collect or eat the Mac & Cheese.
I have no mods.
Anyone else?

Looks like this issue is connected to having fresh Ingrediens in the inventory to make Mac and Cheese. If you don't have cheese, it works.

  • This is really weird - I sent two of the sims that couldn't collect Mac & Chese on their home lot in Chestnut Ridge to the Realm of Magic, both could collect it there.

my Sim is a spellcaster, and lives in Glimmerbrook. She's my only spellcaster, lives alone, and has all the ingredients in her personal inventory.
I sent her to the Magic Realm, to make Mac & Cheese in a cauldron there. It came out light blue, and she still can't collect or eat it.  :(

I then switched to playing the Goth household in Willow Creek. Bella is mortal, not a spellcaster, but I gave her a cauldron and had her make Mac & Cheese. She also couldn't collect or eat it. :(

I also sent my Sim to the magic realm to make Mac & Cheese in a cauldron. She couldn't collect it there either, and her Mac & Cheese was light blue.

Can you try to make one without having the ingredients ?

Okay, I tried it without having the fresh ingredients in my inventory and SURPRISE,
she can make and collect the Mac & Cheese. Also it is orange.
So the bug appears to be that she can't collect or eat the Mac & Cheese when she has the fresh ingredients.

I can confirm this. Without any ingredients in the fridge and in the sim's inventory they can grab servings.

As soon as you put the ingredients back Mac & Cheese is white again and can't be eaten.

  • I am also having problems trying to cook Mac N Cheese in a ROM cauldron. I am in InnisGreen, using a Spellcaster, Mermaid & Fairy (yes all in gnome suits). My lot has Simple Living Lot Trait turned on.

The Mermaid & Spellcaster already tried to cook. They both had ingredients but got white goo in their cauldrons. So you see here the Fairy is now trying to cook with Flour and Cheese in their inventory pockets.

But their cauldron is also white.

And no one can collect the white goo. It's just marked as "discard content".

So I cheated the Spellcaster to have level 10 cooking skill then bought Meat & Tomato. With Meat & Tomato in their pockets the cauldron is the correct color when I try to cook Chili instead of Mc N Cheese.

And everyone can now eat Chili. The neighborhood ghost even showed up for a bowl. It was nice.

So I turned off Simple Living and threw away all the ingredients I had purchased. With the lot trait off and no ingredients when I try to make Mac N Cheese on the same lot with the same cauldron the goo is now yellow and the gnomes can eat again.

I did notice however and this might be useful, when I buy the Cheese from the "Fresh Finds Grocery Bag" (from the Kitchen Clutter Kit) the plate appears empty. When I move the cheese from the bag to my inventory pockets, or to the ground, only then does the cheese actually appear on the plate. This happens when the Simple Living Lot Trait is turned on or off. No matter what when I buy the cheese it doesn't appear to exist until I move the plate. I'm from Wisconsin and can confirm this is unusual cheese behavior and needs to be addressed.
