Sim Gets Fear of the Dark After Being Cured (Patch 1.116.223)

And sometimes even in broad daylight!

I had thought that this had been fixed but, no, this Fear is still buggy.  

There is a work-around, but it is convoluted. 

Cheats enabled, open the cheat box with Ctrl+Shift+C and forcibly equip the fear by typing 

traits.equip_trait trait_fear_dark

and hitting Enter. 

Ger scared. 

Cure it by hiding in bed, or what have you, through gameplay - not a potion, not a Confident outside at Night want. 

Stay UNafraid for several hours.

THEN take Fear Be Gone potion from the Lifetime Satisfaction Rewards menu. 

Total PITA, but this should clear the glitched fear and moodlets. 

I hate it when my sims get the fear of the dark trait, because even after I have done all the steps to combat the fear or I have used the fear be gone drink that can be purchased in the rewards store it doesn't work as they are still afraid of the dark. It is very irritating for gameplay!

Im having the same issue! I really hope they fix this bug as it is getting extremely irritating. Keeps happening mainly with my male sims. 

My sim is getting a negative moodlet from fear of the dark after I have spent aspiration points to cure it twice. It starts in daylight hours. I own every pack and kit, no mods or cc installed, and this is a new family I started around September 3rd or so.

I have all the dlc , running the most current game, I keep it set to auto update. No mods or cc. This is a new file created after Enchanted By Nature pack release. I have cured the Fear of the dark twice, now when I tried again to have my sim drink the fear be gone potion I get the message that he has no fears, and yet he has a  +2 scared moodlet every time he steps out side, day or night.  I have tried repairing my game and clearing the local cache.  What else can I do to stop this?  

So currently sat crying over my game because of this issue. I have removed all mods, started a new game save and deleted EVERY other save file. Repaired the game, multiple times. Deleted cache files, I only have 10 packs installed. I have tried drinking the potion, only for it to be greyed out and she hasnt got the fear trait. I've tried equiping the trait via traits.equip_fear etc. THIS DOESNT WORK FOR ME. NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN I HIT ENTER - and yes I have done testingcheats true. I am pulling my goddamn hair out because no matter what I've tried, even installing mods to remove hidden buffs, the game is in such an unstable state NOTHING is working. EA you need to get a grip on this crap, I'm done spending money on your crap

I play without moda and STILL I have this issue.

My sim is getting the fear after going into an elevator and outside when it’s daytime. I already took a fear be gone but moodlet always comes back 

an update:  Even after removing the clear perspective trait - within 1 sim day - the afraid of the dark came back and never left!!  I saved that game and started a new save.  If this ever gets fixed, I'll have a true save with this issue so I will be able to see if it really is fixed!  Creating this new save has me disturbed as it is apparent to me now, that I truly do not understand the purpose of different saves. I am on the hunt for educating myself now.    Never ever cc or mod's!!!
