I ran into a similar situation the other night with a sim. I had aged him to adult immediately before he spun into his work clothes and left the lot. I aged his wife up after she got home from work. I decided to rotate out of the household to another family but I always check the simology panel before I leave to check days to age up for all household members. That was when I discovered that his panel was still showing him as a YA, but his wife's was correct. Since I had gotten the standard popup for aging to adult, I took him into CAS to see what age he was showing there and it displayed correctly as an adult. When I exited CAS, the glitch fixed itself and his simology panel was then correct.
I realize this isn't an apples to apples comparison but the trigger for both issues was travel right after aging up. I play on PC, never used CC or Mods.

I actually think it the same as the limb issue. That is triggered by travelling and toddlers/infants have distorted limbs because of it
