Sim walks to other end of the house to do homework

Sim child walks past couch to sit on an identical couch at the other end of the house to do their homework.

I tell a sim child to do their homework and they walk past the couch they're standing right next to, and go to another room at the other end of the house to do their homework. I've even told them to sit on the couch and then do their homework, and they'll get off this couch and walk to the other end of the house. When they have extra credit work, they'll get off whichever couch they were sitting on to do their main homework and walk to the other couch to do the extra credit work. The two couches are identical and they have very similar decoration values around them, although the one I'm trying to get my kids to do their homework at also has a fireplace nearby which the other doesn't, so they're walking from a more attractive environment to a less attractive environment. Meanwhile their mother is left standing around while I work out where the child is going so that I can tell her to transportalate there to help them with their homework.

If I had a table or desk that was able to be designated as a study space the way we can designate sinks as kitchen or bathroom now (thank you for that, it's awesome!) then I would expect sims to go to that place to do their homework. But when there isn't a designated homework place, I expect sims to sit at the nearest available couch, desk, or table. They walk so incredibly slowly, especially when they're tired at the end of the day, and I just want them to do their homework, not drag themselves to the other end of the building first, please!

If sims had a general algorithm to use the closest suitable item, in this case a couch, it would also fix that bug where they use the toilet in one washroom at the gym and then walk into a different washroom to wash their hands. And probably a lot of other annoying things like that which I have strategically forgotten about right now.

Never used mods or cc, I'm on PC, I have all the EPs up to Eco Living, and then also Cottage Living and Growing Together, and I bought them all as bundles so a similar number of GPs and SPs.
